The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor in bioengineering to begin September 1, 2025. Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
In line with activities and priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.


Required Qualifications
  1. An earned doctorate in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a field closely related to the search is required.
  2. The successful candidate is expected to teach existing undergraduate and graduate courses and develop new courses.
  3. Candidates are expected to build a research infrastructure that leads to extramural funding, scholarly publications, collaborations, and the training of students or other related fields to complement existing research activity in the Department. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply.
  4. Service to the Department, College, and University is expected. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable.


Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for individuals with expertise in bioengineering related research areas: health monitoring, medical diagnostic & therapeutic devices, biosensors, neural engineering, biomaterials, bio-imaging, etc.
