Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has more than 775 students and 18 full-time faculty members. The faculty are committed to growing a program that is nationally recognized for providing outstanding and hands-on education to aspiring civil and environmental engineers, as well as peer-reviewed research with relevance. Scholarship in the department includes both industry and government funded research projects focused on the practical application of engineering principles.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus on Environmental Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environment Engineering in the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the area of Environmental Engineering, or other general courses in Civil Engineering
Service to the Department/College/University/professional community
Scholarship/Research expectations include pursuing and receiving external grants, creating journal articles and peer-reviewed papers, advising undergraduate and/or graduate student research, etc.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, is required.

The required degree must be earned by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineering license or ability to get the license in a few years
Prior teaching experience in higher education
Evidence of scholarship/creative activities in the broad area of Environmental Engineering
