Location

(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Responsible for managing the design, installation, configuration, programing, testing, maintenance, and upgrade of complex AV systems in a variety of environments including, classrooms, conference rooms and/or event spaces across all KSU sites. Responsible for coordinating the work of contracted vendors following approved standard designs, and collaborates with project managers and technical team members through all phases of the project. Forecasts labor and material expenses for new projects and lifecycle system upgrades. Provides training on new systems and top-tier AV support for existing systems.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Gathers requirements, standardizes and maintains AV designs and programs , oversees deployment, and enhances the Audio-Visual infrastructure for all university spaces, ensuring their quality, stability, recoverability, and security
2. Reviews and validates changes for impact on Audio-Visual posture
3. Automates complex system management tasks and manages departmental automation systems
4. Diagnoses and resolves complex problems on advanced systems
5. Drives root cause analysis, debugging, support, and post-mortem analysis for incidents and service interruptions
6. Develops and maintains documentation of systems, services, processes, and procedures
7. Trains and mentors AV system engineers, support technicians, and other staff as needed
8. Monitors labor and material expenses for new and active projects
9. Manages approved vendor relationships, communicates requirements, negotiates pricing for AV services and materials
10. Defines criteria for quality control, inspects the quality of service provided by vendors and internal employees, and performs complete testing after the installation is complete
11. Generates a work scope, materials list, vendor quotes and statements of work
12. Manages a database of configuration, design and components for all AV spaces
13. Establishes and manages a schedule of projects and provides reports on state, progress and completion dates
14. Coordinates the tasks and flow of the project, including design, purchasing, installation, programing, testing, and communication with vendors and all involved parties
15. Stays up to date with the latest technology trends and offerings for continual improvement of campus standards
16. Provides on call support responding to incidents on nights and weekends

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's in computer science or similar field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Other Required Qualifications
Extron Control Professional certification within six (6) months of employment

Required Experience
Five (5) years of related IT experience demonstrating a progression of dealing with increasingly complex systems.

KNOWLEDGE
Extensive knowledge of enterprise audio visual system design
In-depth knowledge of enterprise Audio-Visual switching, routing, multiplexers, control systems, display devices, scalers, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, cameras, lighting controls, media players, ADA devices, power controllers, rack layout, related software, lecterns, and instructor workstations
Must be well versed in current and emerging technologies, technological trends, and industry best practices for their areas of responsibility

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
