Advancement at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Development Assistant that operates as a key support member of the College of Engineering & Applied Science team! Under the guidance of the Managing Senior Director of Development, this position provides administrative support for a high-performing and collaborative advancement team.The Development Assistant will work on a broad array of administrative duties that are variable and complex in nature and is tasked with exercising a high level of discretion and confidentiality, especially as it relates to assigned responsibilities with donors, faculty, staff and other constituents. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Administrative Support
  • Prepare and distribute various administrative materials, including financial and administrative reports, and donor correspondence.
  • Apply data from donor database to build reports, spreadsheets, and donor correspondence.
  • Process donor checks and gifts.
  • Provide project management for gift closure process in collaboration with development officers. Process and route relevant gift documentation.
  • Prepare and submit expense reports for development officers and purchase requisitions for various office needs.
  • Assist with special projects in collaboration with development officers.
  • Provide event support and preparation as necessary.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship Support
  • Prepare comprehensive briefing reports.
  • Respond to donor/constituent inquiries, in collaboration with development officers.
  • Provide support for development-related stewardship tasks in collaboration with the Stewardship & Donor Relations team.
  • Update donor database with notes, strategic plans, contact reports, and tasks to ensure the most current and relevant information is available.
Office Management
  • Answer and direct emails and phone calls as appropriate.
  • Process and distribute mail/inter-office correspondence.
  • Serve as liaison between College of Engineering & Applied Science advancement team and various internal and external constituents. Research and capture information on various topics as necessary and expedite the flow of information to staff.
  • Resolve IT/software related issues for the team.
  • Initiate, schedule, and coordinate internal and external meetings for the College of Engineering & Applied Science advancement team.
  • Support onboarding of new employees.
  • Proactively engage with the division's Administrative Team (A-Team) and attend scheduled meetings.


What You Should Know

  • This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days on campus and some days remote each week.
  • This position will very occasionally be required to work evenings/weekends.


What We Can Offer

The salary range is $55,000 - $65,000 annually. Relocation assistance is available within Advancement guidelines.

What We Require

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 1+ years of direct work experience.
