We are looking for a Data Center Network Engineer to help with the design and implementation of various infrastructure components within our hybrid data centers. The position will also have the exciting opportunity to help transition and migrate systems from our legacy environment to a modern software defined network and scale for future growth and implementation of hardened security best practices.
Here are examples of the types of things you may encounter on a typical day:
- Contribute to long term planning for the datacenter technology stack.
- Analyze network activity, logs, ACI faults, and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors
- Program or script environments using different tools to promote automation and infrastructure as code
- Work with campus load-balancer design and implementation to host the service for multi tenancy
- Gather and interpret data for contribution to root cause investigation of outages and other issues.
- Work with firewalls using experience with TCP/IP filtering, NAT, and stateful inspection
- Support and maintain network, server, storage virtualization, i.e. ACI networking, MDS switching infrastructure, VSAN, VRF, VPN, and VMWare vSphere applications.
- Install and configure Linux and / or Windows servers and services.
- Creation of scripts for network operations using Terraform and Ansible
- Work with cloud teams to support hybrid cloud environments and synchronize activities and outcomes where possible
- Work with VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS and other routing protocols
- Build and troubleshoot ACI datacenter fabric, working on spine, leaves and controllers (Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller - APIC) in an application centric mode.
- Working on Layer 3 switches, routers, MPLS-PE, and IPN devices.
- Monitor extended fabric through MPLS architecture
- Work on multicast (PIM, IGMP, BiDR-PIM).
- Discern and correlate data from network instrumentation, Netflow and telemetry.
- Use verbal and written skills reflecting an ability to express oneself clearly and articulately. Fluency in technical terms relevant to networking and related technologies.
- Consult with other adjacent teams to architect holistic solutions to campus needs.
- Review submission forms for server requests, work with clients and other teams, and buildout ACI components via Terraform
- Work with CICD pipelines, GitLab, Vault and other coding tools

Hybrid - This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment. AMC OIT strives for a high-flex work environment, meaning although this role can predominately be executed effectively with a remote schedule, there may be instances where in-person meetings and/or activities are needed. Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Education, or a closely related field
- Substitution: 4 years of professional or high-level technical work experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree. An associate's degree with two years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
Experience:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience building and troubleshooting enterprise level network architecture at an intermediate level.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Cisco ACI in both network and application centric modes.
- A moderate knowledge level of networking inside of enterprise networks, ACI or other Software Defined Networks, micro segmentation, and network security concepts for traffic filtering
- Experience working with security and compliance teams to help maintain security posture, reducing risk, and aiding in audits and vulnerability assessments where required.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $80,000 - $105,000.
