Job Summary


The Lockheed Martin Engineering Management Program (EMP) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking an experienced technical and management professional to join our dynamic program. This is a full-time Scholar in Residence position. The ideal candidate is qualified by experience, professional success, and educational preparation to teach graduate and undergraduate-level engineering management courses.

The University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) is one of Colorado's flagship public institutions and among the most research-active public universities in the country. The EMP prepares engineers, applied scientists, and technical professionals for career advancement in business leadership and management. Our focus is to help students at all levels achieve their career objectives and succeed in technical and engineering fields. The Program offers an M.E. degree in Engineering Management, an M.E. degree in Engineering Management on Coursera, multiple graduate certificates, and two undergraduate minors in Engineering Management and Engineering Entrepreneurship. Courses are offered in person, online (asynchronous), remote (synchronous), and/or blended. A complete description of the Program can be found on the EMP website.


What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of engineering management, leadership, engineering economics, finance, engineering communication, ethics, project management, and entrepreneurship.
  • Leadership and service to the department, university and profession.
  • The typical distribution of work for this role is 80% teaching and 20% leadership and service.
  • Serve on committees as assigned.


What You Should Know

  • The anticipated start date for this position is Fall 2025, however a later start date may be negotiated.
  • The selected candidate will be offered a multi-year contract which may be renewable; specific term length will vary based on start date.

What We Require

  • Candidate must have a doctoral degree in engineering or a related field and 10 years of related industry experience.

Or
  • An MBA, or Masters in Engineering or a related field and 15 years of industry experience in engineering, technical and/or business field(s).
