Position Description
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University invites applications for a fulltime, 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Inorganic Chemistry, broadly defined.
Major/Essential Functions
The successful faculty candidate will be required to teach Inorganic Chemistry at all levels and contribute to the graduate curriculum. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, or closely related field, as well as postdoctoral experience, with a strong research track record as exemplified by publications in appropriate peer-reviewed journals.
Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, university, and community is expected.
Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field is required.
- Postdoctoral experience and the ability to teach inorganic chemistry courses.
- The successful candidate should demonstrate a proven capacity or a record indicative of the ability to develop an independent, well-funded research program and a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply: Post Doctoral experience.
